As a proofreader, I ensure your text is free of any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors.
In terms of my services as a copy editor, I read through a piece of text while looking at the writer's word choices, paragraph lengths, appropriate word count, and sentence structure. I also look out for inconsistencies in names, titles, contact details and facts.
In a full edit, I include the above, as well as reading through your text to check for facts and factual errors, inconsistencies, as well as discrepancies in style (specific to a publication). I also look at the flow and strength of the concepts put forth in the text.

I can take a project (for example, a 48-page shopping guide) from its brief, providing copy, editing that copy on layout, sending PDFs to client for feedback/approval, receiving changes and comments from clients and seeing that the revisions are made, obtaining final sign off from client and ensuring that the final product goes off to the printer without a hitch.

I've been in the print media and advertising industries since 2007. I'm a freelance copywriter and copy editor with some serious skills, and I enjoy working from on-site or from home.
​
My writing style is friendly, conversational and (if the subject allows) somewhat irreverent. I have a special knack for breaking complex concepts down so that they are easily understood. I enjoy writing on anything related to women's interest, psychology, health, lifestyle and parenting. But the topics of engineering and industry are not strangers to me either.

I have recently started lecturing at FET colleges on the subjects of marketing, communication, journalism and media on a part time basis.
​
I also enjoy dabbling in graphic design and can make up an impressive invitation, business card, simple logo, letterhead, and other basic design projects.
Experienced and comfortable using Adobe Indesign, InCopy, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro and Illustrator, as well as the Microsoft Office suite.
